In a meta-analysis, researchers have found high serum homocysteine level as a risk factor for coronary heart disease. Studies have shown that intake of folate, vitamins B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride) and B12 (cyanocobalamin) may decrease the risk of CHD through the lowering of homocysteine levels.
